Major Regional Crime Gang Busted

An organised crime gang who smuggled heroin and cocaine in to the of Isle of Man have been jailed for more than 220 years.

The 26 members of the gang were convicted on Friday of conspiracy to supply class A and class B drugs.

Police say the group, based in Liverpool, sold and pushed drugs in Merseyside, the North of England and Isle of Man.

During the investigation on 8 separate occasions detectives seized Heroin (1.5 kilos in total), Cocaine (2.5kg in total) and 53 kilos of cannabis with an estimated total street value of £453k.

Detective Chief Inspector Steve Reardon from Merseyside Police told Energy FM its a great result following the 18-month investigation.
