Three rescued from Ramsey blaze

Emergency services responded to a major blaze in Ramsey this morning.

Fire crews from Ramsey, Laxey and Douglas were sent to the scene after receiving reports of a person trapped in three properties due to a fire in Glen Elfin Road.

On arrival, crews were faced with fires across two properties and two cars well alight.

Three people were rescued from the first floor window of one of the properies by ladder.

All other persons were self-rescued from the other properties.

Four crews dealt with fires across the incident including fires in both properties, heating oil tank running fuel fire, electrical intake fire as well as two car fires and a shed fire.

All casualties were treated on scene for smoke inhalation by paramedics.

The fire service has begun an investigation to ascertain the cause of fire.
