Thu, 31 Jan 2019

An inquest into the death of a TT rider from Kendal will open this morning.

Coroner of Inquests, Jayne Hughes, will open the case regarding Alan 'Bud' Jackson.

Mr Jackson died as a result of injuries sustained at the Creg-ny-Baa during practice for the Senior Classic TT last year.

The 62-year-old was an experienced and regular competitor on the Isle of Man, having made his Manx Grand Prix debut in 1979.

He had four wins during his career, most recently in 1998 in the Classic Lightweight, as well as six other podiums.

His highest TT finish was in 1990 when he secured a fifth in the Ultra Lightweight TT

The inquest will take place at Douglas Courthouse, and is due to get underway at 10am.
