Volunteers to help tackle knotweed problem

Fri, 01 Mar 2019

It’s hoped grants will enable a local charity to train more people to tackle Japanese knotweed on the Island.

Environment Minister Geoffrey Boot has been asked what his department is doing to remove the plant locally.

The invasive, fast-growing weed is difficult to eradicate, often taking several years of treatment.

Part of a grant will be used to train volunteers and to buy equipment to tackle problem areas.
