Man admits to sending drugs in the post

An Onchan man has appeared in court accused of trying to have more than 200 diazepam tablets sent through the post.

Paul James Beattie of Harbour Road admitted three offences when he appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.

He faced two counts of being unlawfully concerned in the supply of class C drugs and one of possessing cannabis.

Beattie has been given 12 months’ probation and ordered to carry out 100 hours of community service.
