Public warning system to be tested today

A test of the All Island Public Warning System will take place this morning.

The sirens will sound a steady note for 30 seconds at 11am at 31 sites around the Island.

The system is tested quarterly on the first Saturday of the month in January, April, July and October.

In the case of a genuine emergency, the sirens would sound a rising and falling note for three minutes.
