Foxdale Heritage Centre given new lease of life

A community run heritage centre has been renovated to give the building a new lease of life.
 
The exterior of the old Foxdale railway building, now a collection of histories and artefacts of the town’s past, has been chipped away to reveal the old brickwork underneath.
 
The renovation was planned by the heritage centre committee, chaired by Paul Lemaire, following a grant of £10,000 from the Lottery Trust.
 
The small museum first opened in 2004, and opens on the first Sunday of every month between 2pm-4pm.
 
Visitors are shown a mixture of photos, historical items, letters and other material which paint a picture of Foxdale’s social history.
