Bike rider killed in Colby collision

A man has died following a collision involving two motorcycles this morning.

Emergency services were called out at around 11:20am to Ballakillowey Road in Colby.

Inspector Juan Kinley from Isle of Man Constabulary told Energy FM: "One of the riders, a 57 year old man from Ireland, was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured during the collision, and the name of the rider who died is not being released until such time as the relevant support is fully in place with the man’s family."

A section of road between the Ballakillowey roundabout and the Ballakilpheric junction remains closed whilst a full investigation is undertaken.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is being asked to call Police HQ on 631 212.
