Plastic waste cut in this year's Parish Walk

Mon, 24 Jun 2019

MannVend helped Manx Telecom Parish Walk organisers to reduce plastic waste by supplying hundreds of compostable water cups to keep the walkers hydrated during the event.

The company provided the plastic free products which are manufactured from a material made from plants.

The cups are 100% compostable and not made from fossil fuels.

Tracey Leahy, Managing Director of MannVend, said: “As the biggest mass participation sports event on the Island the Manx Telecom Parish Walk is a wonderful celebration of the Isle of Man’s community spirit. It is also a great opportunity to demonstrate the Island’s commitment to reducing plastic waste and our carbon footprint. We’re delighted that the Parish Walk’s organising committee share MannVend’s determination to do everything we can to protect the environment, and we’re delighted to have helped them by providing plastic-free cups from Vegware, one of the leading manufacturers of compostable products.”
