Look after pets during heat say MSPCA

Fri, 26 Jul 2019

The Manx SPCA is advising dog owners on the Island to look after their pets in the extreme heat.

As temperatures increase over the next few days - it's thought canines could be at risk of burning their paws.

We're being urged to carry out a 'five second test' by placing bare feet or hands on pavements and paths to see if it's too hot.

The Manx SPCA are also calling for owners to give their dogs a day off from exercise.
