Wed, 28 Aug 2019

A rider has sustained several injuries following a crash at the Manx Grand Prix.

Royce Rowe came off his bike at Alpine during the Junior / Senior Practice session yesterday.

The 24-year-old was airlifted to Noble's Hospital before being transferred to Aintree Hospital in Liverpool.

Rowe Racing have confirmed the rider sustained several fractures including a broken tibia, right hip, ribs and broken wrist.

A spokesperson told Energy FM News: "Royce wasn’t able to talk much as he was in severe shock and heavily sedated by the time the team reached him. His family will be flying over to Liverpool ASAP."

"The Island has been great and we thank everyone for their well wishes through this trying time."

Rowe broke both legs and his wrist during a crash at Union Mills in the 2017 MGP.
