A huge walking event which aims to attract more international visitors to the Island and engage locals is launching at the end of this month.
‘Walk the Isle of Man’ is a partnership between Sally Helwich of Isle of Man Event Services Ltd and Dr Andrew Foxon of Go Mann Adventures, as a celebration of walking.
Participants simply select one of the five daily walks on offer, with a mix of flat paths and roads, as well as more challenging coastal and hillside trails.
Accompanied by experienced walk leaders and supporters, each walk varies in length - the shortest being 4 miles from Glen Mona to Cornaa Halt via Port Cornaa and Ballaglass Glen, and the longest is 16 miles from Douglas to Castletown, via the Raad ny Foillan.
The official launch takes place at the Ascot Hotel in Douglas, starting at 7pm on Sunday, 29 September - the evening before the first walking day.
To book your spot and for further information, contact Isle of Man Event Services on (01624) 664460, or email info@iomevents.com.
Dr Foxon says he hopes that the walks will encourage visitors and locals to take-up walking regularly:
