Hyperbaric Chamber urgently seeking sponsors for new facilities

Tue, 10 Sep 2019

The Island's Hyperbaric Chamber needs more sponsorship to provide a new chamber to help people with a variety of conditions.

Earlier this year a new charity was set-up, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, which took over the Chamber operational functions of the Kevin Gray Memorial Charity.

The charity hopes to gain the support of individuals and corporate benefactors to help raise more funds - so far, £102,000 has been raised for vital life-saving treatment and equipment.

People with illnesses ranging from Bell's palsy, multiple scelrosis, decompression sickness and numerous others have frequently visited the HBC for over 20 years, however more people have to travel off-Island for treatment.

To find out more, email Marcie Dean at Marcie@manx.net or telephone 467668.

Donations can also be sent online via a fundraising page.

IOM Hyperbaric Chamber Manager John Houghton says the funds are needed urgently to allow patients to receive on-Island care:
