Tumble dryer owners urgent warning over fire risk
Fri, 13 Sep 2019
Tumble dryer owners on the Island could be putting their homes at risk of a fire.
Whirlpool has reissued its July recall of certain units, saying only 65,000 people from the British Isles have come forward to replace or modify their equipment.
The company says 500,000 dryers could pose a fire risk.
Last month, The Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading made the public aware of an important update issued in relation to specific models of Hotpoint, Indesit, Creda, Swan and Proline tumble dryers manufactured before September 2015.
