Culture Vannin are asking the public to respect the Island’s heritage after the remains of an ancient chapel was used for a BBQ.

The Manx cultural organisation Tweeted a photo of the damaged keeill at Santon Gorge.

They are asking members of the public if they know who is responsible for holding BBQs at Ballawoods Keeill to stop, as the keeills dotted around the Island are of great historical importance, dating from around 500 AD.

More information about keeills can be found here.
