Government to hold emergency meeting to discuss Laxey flooding

The Isle of Man Government will hold an emergency meeting this afternoon to discuss the flooding which hit Laxey yesterday.

Chief Minister Howard Quayle will chair the meeting to discuss future flood prevention in the area.

Garff Comissioner Nigel Dobson says an outcome could be heard as soon as this evening.

Speaking to Energy FM, Mr Dobson says they will keep pressure on the Government to spend money on a flood defence scheme:
