Technical fault with Manannan causes delays

Mon, 14 Oct 2019

The Steam Packet Company are advising passengers booked on today’s Manannan sailings that there will be delays.

They say the vessel is running on reduced power due to a technical fault and therefore sailing time is expected to be a total of 4 hours.

It's sailing to Liverpool on Saturday afternoon was delayed due to a technical failure with the ramp.

Passengers who were due to depart the ferry after berthing in Princes Half Tide Dock at 1:35pm, but a hydraulic failure with the valve block had failed, holding up the passengers for an extra 90 minutes whilst engineers fixed a replacement.

The Manannan had left Douglas Harbour with three engines instead of four, after one engine failure on its Liverpool to Douglas sailing the previous evening.
