Young students have held a pro-choice demonstration outside University College IOM in response to pro-life campaigners.

On Monday students gathered in Willaston, Douglas to retaliate against anti-abortionists, who had been standing outside UCM with leaflets and posters.

In a social media post, Lucianne Bullock said: 'Our bodies, our rights. We will not be quiet, we’re angry and we’re here to be heard.

'A pro-life organisation decided to stand outside college handing out leaflets and waving their signs... so we decided to stand alongside them with our own signs protesting against their protest.

'Shame on them for targeting the college, an educational centre. A place that is full of young ladies who are transitioning into womanhood. A place that is full of young people who have little life experience, who are by default naive and may be easily influenced, who come to college to get an education, not to be harassed with graphical images and untrue ‘facts’.

'A woman should ALWAYS have the right to choose, regardless of their reasoning. THEIR body THEIR choice.'

It follows Northern Ireland decriminalising abortion.

The Isle of Man passed three orders in May this year to enable women to have abortions.
