A junior Bottlenose dolphin has gone down in history as the first baby dolphin ever recorded in Manx waters.

Manx Whale and Dolphin Watch said a family of three adult dolphins and one calf has been spotted twenty-six times since mid-September, frequently in Peel.

Photos taken show the calf has visible lines on its body, known as foetal folds.

A separate large pod of Bottlenose dolphins totalling thrity individuals were spotted nineteen times since the start of September, almost exclusively on the East coast - the most recent sighting was today at Port Mooar.
