Frank Stennett to leave IOMFA role

Fri, 02 Oct 2020

The Isle of Man Football Association has announced Chief Executive Officer Frank Stennett will leave his role next month.

Board Chairman Steve Carter says it follows a significant reduction in FA funding to Grass Roots Football related to coronavirus.

Mr Carter stated, “The Board members were faced with the immediate need to reassess the finances of the organisation in order to protect its future development operations.  A review of the workforce has been carried out and restructuring plans have begun”.

Mr Stennett, who took up the role in 2009 said that he is “naturally disappointed” to be leaving The Bowl.

IOMFA President Tony Mepham added “This has been an incredibly difficult decision for the board to reach, as we see Frank, not only as an employee but also a friend. We are very grateful for the professionalism that he has shown throughout the process and he takes with him our sincere thanks for service with the association and the very best wishes for the future.  We are sure that he will still be regularly seen on the touch line of local games, such is his passion for football”
