Ballakermeen students to continue working from home
Fri, 07 Jan 2022
A shortage of teachers has led a school to allow students to learn from home next week.
Students in Year 9 at Ballakermeen to be able asked to stay at home on Monday.
In addition, Year 12 will be asked to stay at home on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week.
In a letter to parents, Headteacher Adrienne Burnett said: "We have ended the week with 30 members of staff absent and we know that at least 15 teachers will be absent on Monday. As you can appreciate, this is putting unsustainable pressure on the school. The staffing is an ever shifting picture and it is very difficult to pre-empt what might happen, or what each day will bring."
