Wed, 04 May 2022

A former chief minister says urgent funding is needed for local heritage sites.

Tony Brown has said cuts to Manx National Heritage's budget has caused historic sites on the Island to fall into a state of disrepair.

Writing in a Facebook post - Mr Brown said its time for the Manx Government take action and invest in the heritage and tourism industries.

Manx National Heritage has been given a budget of £4,6 million for the next financial year.

Work is currently being carried out on the Laxey Wheel at a cost of £750,000.
