Prisoners can contact Crimestoppers in new initiative

Thu, 26 May 2022

Prisoners at the Isle of Man Prison can now contact Crimestoppers anonymously via phone, free of charge, to report any crimes they may be aware of.

Crimestoppers Isle of Man have partnered with the Prison and the Police in a new initiative to reduce and prevent crime and help keep the Island safe by raising awareness of its key message of “Speak up. Stop crime. Stay safe.”

Information for contacting Crimestoppers is now displayed both in the prison and in the police custody suite, encouraging those that may be unwilling or uncomfortable speaking to the police or prison staff directly that any contact with Crimestoppers is 100% anonymous.

Crimestoppers is not the police. It is an independent charity, working to help communities by offering the opportunity for relevant information to be provided free and completely anonymously, either online or through the Crimestoppers number 0800 555 111.
