Manx journalist continues 'fight for media freedom'

Tue, 07 Nov 2023

A journalist on the Isle of Man has claimed he was asked to stop an investigation into the way the Manx Government handled the Covid pandemic.

Paul Moulton from Isle of Man Television says he was asked by Kate Brunner KC who is leading a review to stop requesting FOI and reporting 'as the review was in danger of collapsing'.

In a video, Mr Moulton said he is still waiting for a FOI and DSAR to be answered and why the Chief Minister Alf Cannan totally ignored any reference to him in his robust response to the Manx public.

Along with the video, Mr Moulton has also a number of documents, including email exchanges between his legal adviser and Ms Brunner.

Kate Brunner has since denied she told Mr Moulton her review was in danger of collapsing.

Mr Moulton said the Manx Government are still refusing to answer his Freedom of Information requests:
