Sat, 11 Nov 2023

A support partnership has been established that will provide guidance and education workshops for new and expectant parents on the island.

Pink Flamingo brings together a team of industry experts: dietitian - Zita Ronald, sleep consultant - Emma Riley, physiotherapist - Erin Bonett, psychologist - Dr Hollie Quaye and Psychological Therapist - Fiona King.

Initially it will be offering ‘Bump to Baby’ and ‘Early Days’ workshops which will be held quarterly on a Saturday, starting December 16.

The ‘Bump to Baby’ workshop will be antenatal focussed, with content centred around the later stages of pregnancy and the first few months of an infant’s life. It will include nutrition in pregnancy, preparing your body for birth, the emotional impact of pregnancy, laying strong foundations for sleep, infant feeding and post-partum physical recovery and mental health.

The ‘Early Days’ workshop will be for parents with children aged 3 months plus and will focus on rehabilitation and returning to exercise, stress reduction, changing relationships and adjusting to life as a family, an introduction to weaning, food allergies and intolerances, avoiding sleep regressions and setting sleep routines.

Each four-hour workshop is priced at £285 per couple, or £500 for both. Each couple will receive a printed toolkit and access to a digital hub containing informative documents, videos, sleep plans, recipes, and other useful resources.

The workshops will be hosted at Hopes & Dreams nursery, Woodbourne Road.
