Commissioners disappointed at MU's delay on sewage plant planning application

Manx Utilities has announced a delay to the planning submission for its Peel sewage treatment works.
 
The authority was supposed to release the application at the beginning of the month, but this has been moved to ‘later this year’.
 
Manx Utilities said on its website: “We are working with our consultants to finalise the planning application prior to a formal submission.
 
“The final element of the work has been extended to ensure that all comments from consultees, stakeholders, members of the public and local businesses have been considered.  We will provide a further update when the planning application is submitted later this year.”
 
Chair of Peel Commissioners Hazel Hannan says the board is disappointed at the setback for a sewage plant, especially after the public drop-in sessions.
 
She says they’ve also been let down with the lack of communication about the change:
